J.W. Mashburn was a national and world record holder in track events and a member of the United States Olympic Team in 1952 and 1956, winning a Gold Medal in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia.
After his track career ended, he entered the home construction business and became one of the top home builders in Oklahoma.
